Whack-a-mole is a fun game of trying to bop moles on the head with a mallet as they pop up from their various little holes. It’s not such a fun game when you are playing it with your health.
Lyme disease – bartonellosis – babesiosis – and whatever other infections and conditions are floating around in my body are taking turns popping up (via symptoms) on a rotating basis. Just when we get one knocked down, a different issue pops up.
I’ve made a lot of improvement over the last 3 years and I have much for which to be grateful. But I battle daily with pain, fatigue, nausea, digestive problems, tachycardia, dizziness, etc etc etc. At this point, my body is done fighting and the treatments are not as effective as we would like them to be.
We have been look at health centers that focus on detox and rebuilding the immune system and have for the most part decided on one that I hope to go to in the near future. It’s a little nerve wracking, but we strongly believe this is the right next step for me.
The doctor temporarily stopped the IV abx (staying on oral) for the time being and we are reducing pain meds in order to prep for this adventure.
The goal is to come back stronger and more able to fight the infections (which we will continue to do so long as I am symptomatic).
The hope is that the detox and strengthening efforts will help reduce symptoms (especially nausea, pain and fatigue).
God is still God.
God is still good.
To Him be the glory.
